Great Grill Pan
This pan gets high use in a large family and has stood up over time. We love this pan and would buy another is the need ever arose.

Read the rest of my reviews I am picky but this pan is a 10 star product.

This is an awesome grill pan
I love this pan. I own a varied collection of all-clad, viking, and analon titanium cookware... and this is one of my favorite pans to use. I love using it for fish, chicken, a quick steak, or to put some grill marks on asparagus. It's very handy, heats evenly, and rocks my kitchen world... SS

This is not a good grill pan
I feel that I am committing a mortal sin by saying that an All-Clad pan is not a good pan, but this one is not. Most people believe that All-Clad is exceptional cookware and I agree for the most part. This pan, however, is simply not a good or even average grill pan.

A grill pan is supposed to approximate the flavor and markings achieved by using a good charcoal/gas grill or an open flame of hardwood. The flavor is achieved by having sharp edged grill strips separated relatively deep valleys. Over a hot flame, the valleys allow the drippings to burn and emit smoke. This pan has very flat grill strips and extremely shallow valleys. The result is no smoke flavor and no grill marks.

The other failing of this pan is its light weight. The pan comes up to temperature quickly, but when you throw in two or three 1 & 1/2 pound ribeyes, it quickly cools off. This s a pure aluminum pan and as a result is light weight has little reserved heat when the steaks hit. The result is steaks that have been sautted rather than grilled. You do not have the deep,rich crust that you expect from a good steakhouse.

If you want to grill indoors - then get a heavy pan that can leave clear grill marks. Based on my experience, I can recommend Lodge or LeCruest.

Excellent Product
Great product for a good price. I bought this as a gift and the receipient liked it very much. High quality stainless with solid handles and other hardware.

Missing piece, pictures can be deceiving
The lid from the smallest sauce pan was missing. I called and asked if they could send the missing piece. Instead of making it simple, they said I'd have to send the whole thing back to them. Because of this, I asked for a refund. The pans themselves also don't look nearly as good as they do in the photo. The lesson here is to not buy items like this online. Your best bet is going to a store and seeing what you are going to buy in person beforehand. Also, if you run into any problems, it's less of a hassle to take care of.

Great after all this time...
I purchased this set from Amzaon back in 2001 and they are still going strong. The ones that I replaced with this set didn't even last this long. This set works great if you are looking for some cookware that works well and lasts a long time. Granted, there are better sets out there, but they often are more expensive or overpriced. If you are looking for a starter set or just something to cook those nightly meals with, this set comes highly recommended.

Almost Ideal
I agree with the extensive comments by Dipika Kapadia. One GREAT disappointment, however, is the fact that the egg cup holder is not non-stick. Each cup has holes in the bottom; I suspect this is to release steam from below if the cup is not being used. However, for cups in use, these holes will drip egg white (very minor), initially, into the water until the cooked egg white plugs these holes. Due to this minor amount of egg white drippings, the water will develop a egg white froth. The steam will ooze this froth out of the steam vents and will coat the bottom of the cup holder. Thus cleaning this plate becomes a chore. I would add to Dipika Kapadia's suggestions:

1. Remove cups that are not in use. This allows for a better circulation of the steam.
2. Heat the water with lid, but without the cup holder.
3. Spray the cups with PAM, but don't spray the cup holder. Fill the cups with the eggs, with the cups sitting in the cup holder on the counter top.
4. When water is gently simmering, remove lid and install cup plate assembly all at once (yes, wipe up the minor amount of egg whites on the counter top).
5. When finished, use a standard dinner fork (through the hole in the cup lip) to lift out cups. Stove gloves, needle nose pliers or other such nonsense are simply not needed.

This pan is AWESOME!!! It works beautifuly, cleans easily and was DEFINATELY worth the money!!! I got my super picky kids to eat eggs! WOO HOO!! Great Pan!

Nice quality - but...
The egg cups are too small - very annoying and messy. Also, the cup holder would be better if it was coated with non-stick, especially since there's always spilled egg on it.

Works great, looks good, easy to drain and clean. Flip lid is very good feature. Works great for a single guy.

If at first you don't succeed ...
I've come to the conclusion that, though this pot is decent quality and well made, the size makes it unweildy.

Every time I think I've mastered (tamed) it, I lose a pot of pasta in the sink at the last second. Because of the size of the pot, the need to keep a firm grip on the handles, and the twisting position you need to take to drain the contents, this is a tricky operation. This sounds silly. How could draining a pot be tricky ... but, with this pot and cover... well, it is.

Will probably give it a couple more tries before I give up ... and drain over a strainer - just in case!

Not of good quality
Surafce get's easily scratched. Not a good quality. Not worth $9.99 that I paid.

This is my everyday pan!
I hated my mother's cast iron skillet, it was so big and heavy, but she had to feed a family of nine. Now I am getting reaquainted with cast iron, and wish I hadn't stayed away so long. The 8" is perfect for me, not so much heavy, as solid. Heats pretty quick, clean up and care is simple. I have left teflon on the burner before and am not surprized that the horrid smell is also toxic. I'd rather have the added iron in my diet instead of teflon or alluminum. It's easy to see why Lodge has stood the test of time, quality and affordability together are hard to find! Quick shipping too! Two forks up!

Cast Iron is the Way To Go!
I bought this pan a while ago,and must say,it's great! the Diameter is perfect for smaller pancakes,and they wont stick! Eggs,bacon,everything fries great in this pan,already seasoned is awsome also.Plus you don't have the chemicals,like in those no stick pans.These cast iron pans will last a lifetime!

Great little pan
My wife thought I was wasting money when I first bought a cast iron skillet, but now she uses it all the time. She took over the last pan so I bought this smaller one for my omelets. This preseasoned pan works great. But don't expect perfect non-stick results on day one; it needs some time to break in. You will need to use cooking spray and the more use it gets, the slicker the surface becomes. Don't use soap to clean. Just use warm or hot water and squirt a little cooking spray on it before you put it away. Cast iron will last a lifetime and go ahead and use those metal utensils if you wish.

Perfect
I bought this as a gift for myself. I did a lot of research and price checking. I love my new set and I think it's the best thing ever. I read some of the reviews of people complaining that the handles get hot, that's what hot mitts are for. I use cast iron too, so I'm used to it. I don't even see that to be a problem. My son is 10 and I let him use the small pan to make omelets. He loves them too. Great product. Great value.

Great Cookware but Induction Safe?
I have had the 10 piece Stainless steel set for some time and like it so well that I have bought several other pieces like a large and small saucier. Until recently I did not even realize that one was supposed to heat the pots on a lower heat, and usually cranked my heat up to high. The pots, I am glad to say, are fine.

However in spite of the Amazon Product Description, which says "the cookware works on any stovetop, including induction" I am doubtful that this is the case. Cooking.com says they are NOT safe for use with induction stove tops. Apparently if a pot or pan will attract a magnet it is induction safe. Interestingly none of the pieces in the 10 piece set attract a magnet, while my other Emeril pieces do. Go figure!

Not bad for the money
I purchased this set as a reasonably priced alternative to All Clad.

Pros: Reasonable cost, complete set looks good hanging on your pot rack

Cons: 8" fry pan is prone to tipping when empty, e.g. when being heated with only a little oil in preparation for searing. The glass lids are heavy and the perimeter metal not well finished. The copper stripe around the base is for decoration only and has started to peel off on one of my pots.

Conclusion: Not a bad set but for the serious cook it makes more sense to buy individual pans suited for the different cooking needs. Stainless is best for browning, searing, and pan frying. It's definitely not non-stick so if you like eggs over easy, better buy a non-stick pan.

Great cookware!
I love this cookware! It took a bit of adjusting for me to get used to stainless vs. non-stick but I'm glad I made the switch!

Great Value
I can't comment on the durability as I've only been using this pot for a month, but so far it's performed as well as the Staub pot I had been using for years previously. If this holds up for even a couple of years, I'd say it's well worth it for the price! The only catch is that the handle is only oven-safe to 400F, so I have had to remove it on a few occasions. It screws on and off quite easily, though!

love this pot
... it's a replacement for the 5-qt. dutch oven I used weekly which was lost when moving. $53 Lodge vs. $210 Le Creuset. The 75% savings paid for a complete 10-piece set of Cuisinart Chef's Classic stainless steel. (Bought the original Le Creuset in 1991 as part of a 2 fry pans, 2 sauce, 1 dutch oven set for $170.)

Don't know yet if I like the shallower/wider shape as I'm so accustomed to long-cooking dishes in a deep pot. But, it is a generous 6-qts. (rather than 5), it cooks the same, and the quality is on par with the Le Creuset. There is not as much surface contact with the heating element, but I love the rounded interior bottom for stirring up the pot!

This Lodge enameled cast-iron is a beauty--bought the blue one, it feels good to cook in, and I'm so glad to have found a replacement for my favorite, most used pot.

Great deal on a great pan

This saucepan is the perfect size and quality to do so many things. It is well made and I use it almost daily. I would strongly recommend it.

Poor quality or just defective
After very little use, the teflon has already worn off. Even though it was only $20, it should lasted at least a year. I've been using teflon products for years and never have had one go bad so quickly.

Not all it is cracked up to be
I was all excited that I was buying Calphalon, what I thought was a very high-end product. After I used and washed it for the first time (following the instruction pamphet), I noticed the side of the saucepan got stained by the oil I used. After one use, I would have expected the product to look brand new. It's okay but I am not wowed by the product.
